Review highlights
Based on 214 reviewsTutto Pepe Osteria is widely praised for its authentic Italian cuisine, with many reviews highlighting flavorful pasta dishes, unique sauces, and standout appetizers such as bruschetta and fried Brussels sprouts with fig jam. Guests appreciate the generous and shareable portions, complemented by attentive and friendly service that enhances the dining experience. The ambiance is described as cozy and welcoming, contributing to the overall appeal of this neighborhood gem. Some feedback suggests minor room for improvement in dish presentation, but the consistently high quality of food and a notable dessert offering, like tiramisu, reinforce its reputation as a must-visit Italian restaurant in the San Antonio area.
What a great little hole in the wall! I had the mussels in lemon butter sauce. Delicious. And we had the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was a different color than your typical red marinara sauce. It had great flavor and was also delicious. This place has both an Italian and Mexican restaurant. Two restaurants sharing one lobby. Unique! When I’m craving Italian in my neighborhood again I’ll come here.
Tutto Pepe Osteria (Bulverde/Evans) is a WELCOMED addition to the area. Presented by the owners/chef of Panfila right next door. The menu offers a very solid selection of appetizers, salads, pastas and entrees. The servings are definitely adequate and shareable. The service and ambiance are perfect. Most importantly, the food is DELISH! We started with the bruschetta and shared the Caesar salad. Rigatoni cacio e pepe with chicken and shrimp scampi as our mains. OMG, the rigatoni...it will be making frequent appearances in dreams to come. Large, perfectly sauteed shrimp on a bed of sauced pasta. Yum. Finally, an encore of some of the best tiramisu we’ve ever had, definitely made with love in-house like everything else. Gabi (owner/chef) made frequent visits to the table to present plates and ensure our experience didn’t lack for anything. Put this place on your list to visit. Actually, put this place on your rotation of regular visits.
First time customer. Overall a great experience. Fast friendly service (tea/water glasses were kept full) tasty appetizers (bread service and bruschetta) flavorful main dishes, ending with the best coffee/tiramisu combination we've had in a looong time. We will be back! Only negatives: (1)the pieces of tomato on the bruschetta were way too large. Two of us (out of four) managed to knock a chunk of tomato to the floor while attempting to take a bite and (2) the Tiramisu, while really good, was lacking that distinctive "taste" we have come to associate with Tiramisu, uncertain what that is/was - maybe it needed a little more Coffee liqueur, maybe a little more Marsala.....
I’ve been looking for a while and I finally found an Italian restaurant that’s actually authentic and not just Olive Garden quality! This place is the BOMB! We had the bread service, baked mussels, caprese (sooo good!) , truffle tortellini (OMG) and the pork Milanese. If you want delicious Italian food THIS is the place!
Please don’t think hard about trying this place! If you enjoy good flavored pasta, this is your place! We tried 3 of their appetizers. We loved the fried Brussels sprouts with fig jam THE best, but all were still flavorful and unique to why we enjoyed them. My husband got the truffle tortellini and I got the trottole al pesto. Mine was delicious, added shrimp. Hands down! Service was great, too. No issues. Not overly attentive nor under. Just the right attention to enjoy our date night. We will be back.
From the atmosphere to the food all was handled so amazingly well. I had Bread service, baked clams and truffle tortellini and it was all so good. Small menu but that’s what I prefer. The presentation and execution were perfection. Wait staff was also on point
Best spaghetti sauce I've had - and I personally am not normally a fan of sketti! I would like to encourage you to run, not walk, to this delicious little gem. Someone else had posted about it recently and I didn't take them serious enough how delicious this place is! We've been disappointed time and again at different Italian places across the city, but this place really excelled at their small menu. It's tucked into a shopping center and shares a space with an authentic looking Mexican restaurant (which has wonderful reviews as well). The sauces are so flavorful, the meatballs handcrafted, and the service is friendly. I personally can't recommend the artichoke and mushroom appetizer - it was unique, but the smoky chipotle on it was not to my taste - but the rest was magnificent!
Such a great place!!! Food is amazing! We tried several different things, but the top 5 were bread service, meat balls appetizer, Caesar Salad, braised pork dish, and truffle tortellini. Homemade desserts were delicious also.
